NEWSLETTER – TRI-WEEKLY BULLETIN Nº10

Good day everyone,

The summer of 2025 promises to be a time of significant change for those seeking to immigrate or study in Canada.

Whether you are already a permanent resident, student, temporary worker, or aspiring immigrant, it is essential to stay up to date on the latest developments so you can better plan for your future.

At VisapourCanada, we closely monitor every development so we can provide you with clear, personalized advice tailored to your situation. Here is the key information you need to know this month.

IRCC: What are the current processing times?

images newsletter 2

Processing times remain a key issue in your application process.

Here is the most recent data published by IRCC:

Permanent resident card:

– New residents: 50 days

– Renewal: 16 days (slight increase, but still fast)

Express Entry and other programs:

– CEC (Canadian Experience Class): 5 months

– FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program): 6 months

– PNP via EE (provincial nominees through Express Entry): 8 months

– PNP outside EE: 19 months (please note the long processing time)

Why are these figures important?

Because they determine the progress of your project.

The more informed and prepared you are, the better you can manage your deadlines (travel, renewals, submissions).

Our recommendation: plan ahead, keep your documents up to date, and respond quickly to IRCC requests.

Permanent residency: How to protect your status?

Did you know that in order to maintain your permanent residency, you must be physically present in Canada for at least 730 days (2 years) within a 5-year period?

However, there are some exceptions:

  • If you are working abroad for a Canadian employer
  • Or accompanying a spouse who is a citizen or permanent resident on a professional assignment

VisapourCanada advice:

Keep your proof of presence (airline tickets, contracts, certificates) in a safe place.

This will save you a lot of trouble in the event of renewal or inspection

Express Entry: Opportunities and Strategies – July 2025

Rounds of invitations continue to evolve:

In June, a round of invitation targeting the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) invited 3,000 candidates with a very high CRS score of 521 points

For July, rounds of invitations for French-speaking outside Quebec are planned, with a more accessible score threshold between 370 and 400.

This is excellent news for French speakers!

What we recommend:

  • Optimize your French with a good TEF or TCF Canada, which can lower your CRS score.
  • Explore provincial nominations (PNP) to win extra points.
  • Update your Express Entry profile regularly to be ready to take any opportunity.
