PEQ application: $5500 CAD for the main applicant
+ $500 /per additional dependent
Temporary foreign workers in Quebec may be eligible to apply for the Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) through PEQ if they meet the following criteria:
CONDITIONS:
- Intent to settle in Quebec to work.
- Have respected the conditions of their stay.
- Have acquired 24 months of full-time work experience in Quebec in a level 0, A, or B job within the last 36 months.
- Have a legal status in Quebec as a temporary worker or participant in a youth exchange program, such as International Experience Canada (IEC) (Working Holiday, Young Professionals, and International Co-op).
Language Requirements:
Candidates must prove French proficiency at level 7 through a standardized language test recognized by the Quebec government or provide a final transcript showing the completion of at least three years of full-time secondary or post-secondary studies entirely in French. The spouses of main PEQ applicants must demonstrate oral French proficiency at level 4.
Full-time work experience under PEQ:
MIFI considers full-time employment to be a minimum of 30 paid hours per week. Full-time work experience gained under a post-graduate work permit, a youth exchange program, or International Experience Canada is eligible for PEQ if all requirements are met. Part-time, self-employed, or entrepreneurial work is not considered. Quebec immigration authorities expect accelerated processing of PEQ applications.
